MY FIRST RED TOMATO!
I am having so much fun gardening, but it's a lot harder than it looks! Trying a bit of everything, seeing what sticks. Extremely hard being an organic gardener....
Off to make rice pilaf. Starting to menu plan. Need to stay off FB. And away from Tim's cherry pie. And get me to that horrid gym! Peace, my peeps :)

I'll Always Be Dreaming of You

Hey, folks just a quick post. I've been a bad, bad blogger lately! Our Napa trip was amazing, now I'm off to a birthday party for a sweet little one year old girl named Angelina.....

"FATE FELL SHORT THIS TIME, YOUR SMILE FADES IN THE SUMMER, PLACE YOUR HAND IN MINE, I'LL LEAVE WHEN I WANNA"....poetry that is blink-182.

Beautiful, Beautiful, Beautiful, Beautiful Boy!

Here he is, my "baby". Yes, I know he's slightly large for me to call him my baby. He will always be my baby. This is his favorite snack, a cheese quesadilla with some fruit. Strawberries are his favorite. He loves his Dad's "Football Delight" pasta, and also his cakes. Yesterday I had my parent-teacher conference. His teacher is so nice and sweet, and really works well with Aaron . She likes his sense of humour, even though I know she has a hard time getting him to be quiet sometimes. We are so proud of our guy. I know it's hard sharing the attention with two younger siblings, but you handle it well, my friend (most of the time). Let's not get into those threats involving arm breaking to your brother :-0. Watching you grow up is a joy and pleasure. I'm so glad God picked you to be my son. I'm also really stoked that you look like me.

Everyday I Write the Book

Wow, I'm really geeking out on the digital camera thingy. I have some really great pictures that I am having trouble uploading! Strange thing is, I found them to put on Facebook, but couldn't find them to blog with. Oh, well, here is a gorgeous pic of Yosemite Valley. Tim & I were married in Yosemite, and I think it is one of the most gorgeous places on earth. Tim has had a lot of time off due to the jacked up economy. I love having him home, but it is quite scary also! Right now he is making his family recipe for "Football Delight" & he plans on making a cake. I MUST go to the gym tomorrow then! That sounds calorie dense. TTFN

We Can Make a Dance Floor Just Like a Circus

I haven't had the energy to post in awhile. Time for some Kristina Contes style bullet points:

-I think I'm having a mid-life crisis. All I want to do is listen to Pantera and NOFX and curl up in the fetal position.

-Besides the crisis, though, I'm doing well. Have half heartedly started to exercise again, after falling off the wagon big time! Today, Tim & I were going for a walk and it started to pour. So he took me for pancakes. Not so good.

-Things that rule: a painting in the mail from Aunt Crafty, Britney rocking her Circus tour, trying to learn Britney's new moves, scrapbooking, coffee, talks with Kristen, puffy siamese cats, my new MySpace page, and children playing outdoors with their daddy!

-What I've done for the earth lately: no plastic bags at the store, picked up trash at the beach, lots of walking, and of course recycling. Today, I got a big Styrofoams container with half of my breakfast in it. Not so good. Note to self: next time, take my own container!

What little things are you doing to love on the earth?

Will I get the composter that I want for my birthday? Will my husb. learn to recycle? Tune in to see....

PEACE OUT MY PARTY PEOPLE!

80's song of the Day: "Down Under" by Men at Work

Update: my husband came in the garage and was all like "OK, WHY R U ALWAYS ON THIS COMPUTER". So I XXXX'd out of here. Didn't want him to see me talking crapola about his INABILITY TO RECYCLE.

The way things are going, They're gonna crucify me!

What it do, nephew? We had an amazing time in gorgeous Wrightwood, CA. It was a winter wonderland! Unfortunately, my camera was misplaced the whole time amongst the chaos. I found it when I was unpacking. Bryce took a ton of photos, and video of Aaron tearing it up on the snowboard! It was nice having Bryce's energy there with us. The cabin was crazy off the chain, we rented two adjoining places. Bryce, Aaron & Logan had their own batchelor apartment upstairs from the main cabin! There was TONS OF POWDER! My beautiful little guy, Logan, turned six while we were there. Last night, Mom threw him a Batman party for the family. It was rad! Ribs, blue box mac n cheese, Grandma Bonnie's jello & an amazing cake with Batman on it! Perfect for a six year old! He got some awesome pressies, a wii fit, lots of Batman toys, new clothes, a nerf gun to annihilate his brother with, a book for his Tag reader, and a Batman boat. Can't wait to take the kids to the park with Daddy and tear that thing up! We love that boy so much, he is a miracle, that's for sure. Yesterday, I paid his final medical bill for 2006. Woot!

Enjoy your Saturday, I am leisurely unpacking, letting the kids spend too much time on the wii, and Charlotte Rose is drawing. Tim is on his way home because this economy blows hard! Hope President Obama can save us all....I cannot Frkcn believe what Dumya did to our economy. And they are prosecuting the shoe thrower? BTW, that was the funniest thing I have ever seen...

Baby it's Cold Outside

I love the Zoey Deschanel version of that song. I hated it when Jessica Simpson butchered it. We are snow bound, hopefully we aren't being stupid. We couldn't go to Big Bear because there is just TOO much snow, so we are going to Wrightwood, CA instead (google it). Trees, snow & a warm cabin with a fire going and hot chocolate! I'm so tired, better have some coffee and keep packing. Hopefully, tomorrow I'll be walking in a winter wonderland. Ciao!

I Can't Stop Loving You

This layout is of my Grandpa, who died in August. I miss him! When my grandparents would fight, my Gram would run to the piano and plunk out "I Can't Stop Loving You" by Ray Charles. Two weeks before Grandpa died, they got into a huge fight, and Gramps "left" her. He was back in 20 minutes, with a six pack of beer. My Grandmother just gave me a huge packet of stuff simply marked "Jennifer". I loved looking at everything she saved, I thought I was going to be the next Picasso. Heck, I drew better then than I do now! One picture that I drew was of my Grandpa watching Oral Roberts. He loved to watch golf and televangelist. Here's a splash of beer to you, Gramps. Hope you and your buddy Willy are having a beer in Heavan.

That Magic Feeling: No Where to Go

Yes, I admit it, I am a homegirl, I like to kick it in my casa. It also still scares me to take all three of them out at once! Isn't that funny, that I'm still not used to it. I just feel like they are gonna get lost, because they try to split up and go in opposite directions. We enjoyed the most beautiful rainy day indoors. I have been cleaning non-stop and doing laundry. It still looks like someone dumped sand and cathair all over the wood floors (dark wood floors show everything). This morning, Aaron was having fun taking photos. The kids are playing with wood blocks, and with Charlotte's enormous Barbie. They were playing that she broke her leg doing the splits, and Charlotte was the doctor. Classic.

We are all a little stir crazy, so between storms I am going to bundle them up and go for a jog! The boys are going to maim themselves soon if I don't get them out for some cardio. Peace

ps What the Sam Hill heavan is wrong with Chris Brown? Did he really rough up Princess RiRi? Oh no he didn't.......

I Start to Complain When There's No RAIN

Another one of my children has come down with the dreaded cold. We thought we'd have a great night's sleep last night because Mom had the little ones. Our eldest coughed and sniffled all night, poor guy. He's going to have to rally and finish his bio poem, bibliography and illustration of Frankline Pierce. aaaaaaahhhhhh. Last night, we didn't have any red meat. I made fish sticks, homemade tartar sauce, natural rice with grilled vegies & long grain, brocolli & madagascar vanilla ice cream with choc sauce for dessert. Yum! I'm getting ready to do my menu plan, and it will hopefully involve no red meat or pork! That's the goal! My man loves some hog next to his eggies on his day off, and the kids do too. My kids are each picky about different things, but pancakes with sausage or bacon they all devour. So, sometimes I do turkey bacon, which the man hates, and I don't like that it has nitrites in it!
On the plastic news front, I'm hearing things like when you let your plastic water bottle get hot, it leaches chemicals into your drinking water. Lord knows I used to try to save money and refill them, not knowing that it was leaching chemicals into my drinking water. Another reason to ditch that plastic water bottle habit! I'm thinking of giving SIGG bottles to my kids for Valentines' Day! We had a lovely, stormy couple of days. I actually get sad to see the sun peak out! My plants are loving the rain! This week, we're on storm watch again! Today seems like a great day to get a few layouts accomplished. The kids really enjoy the scrapbooks that I've made for them. I also owe layouts to several members of my family. Today, I am trying to organize my pictures. Ali Edwards, where are you when I need you. Hopefully, having that baby soon and then gimme some girl baby layout love! I just adore her website, she is the Elvis of scrapbooking, I hang on her every word. Her baby's nursery is YUMMY! On the TV front, I cannot wait for the return of the New York Housewives, those biyatches are crazy, and I am beyond obsessed with New York! I have been unofficially doing some "green" internet challenges, even if they have ended. I love trying to eat less meat. RobJ of Rob's World fame had a good one about repairing the things you have. I love this. On my list: my beautiful quilt that Aunt Laurie made me when I was young, a ripped pair of pjs, and a strap on a handed down dress for Lottie. I like to channel Caroline Ingalls, who would fix Pa's holey socks at night, lol. RAWK ON, KIDS ***************

I'm Only Happy When it Rains!

'Member that 90's song? That was the jam. I am really enjoying this rain, Logan is feeling better, and I am doing laundry. Face Kanehl (aka Senior Wet Tail when it rains) is cowering under the bed, hearing Logan running down the hall, with Jasmine sitting under there with him, ready to give him a Heather Locklear-Melrose Place slap (with claws out). My poor little pit bull kitty! He has had so many fighting related ear surgeries, that he now resembles a pit bull more than a siamese cat. In yesterday's shoutout, I meant to include Henri's girlfriend Andrea. Those two are like peanut butter n' jelly, they come as a set. Love & miss her very much, too. Dreaming of spring, and seeing my Napa family. Aunt Laurie is like my greatest friend ever. She is the most positive person I know, and I just love her to pieces. She is my rock & my sounding board. Hello to you, Auntie, even though we just spoke on the phone!
Today, Crunchy Chicken was discussing the green aspects of being a vegetarian. They are substantial. This is a really hard one for me, but that's why I love Crunchy, cuz she pushes the envelope, and has great ideas. I would like to eliminate, or greatly reduce, my family's meat intake. My friend Kristen was talking about a great Lentil soup she was making. Does anyone have any other vegetarian meal ideas, for my meat and potatoes man? Have a great day!

Your Wildest Dreams

Hi Everyone, I'm having fun even though this is day two of being house bound with a crouping Logan. My poor guy. I think Charlotte and I will scrapbook later, and I'll do a puzzle or read to Logan. He loves those "I Spy" books, which I don't, cuz they make my eyes hurt. I had to miss my Mommy's group today, I was bummed about that!
The fun continues on Facebook. I'm finding people from my junior high drama class this week.
I will now attempt to load new photos. Still getting the hang of this thing. Don't forget to head on over to the crunchy chicken for daily enviro. tips. Be careful, she had me letting the boys pee in the garden last summer. The links on the side of her site are great. I also enjoy Fake Plastic Fish, who has been known to dress up like a Brita filter. She also posts all of the plastic she uses weekly. What an inspiration.
TO DO:
organize boys bedroom
" crk's bedroom
" garage
start garden
hook up scanner
post a layout or two
lookup bus schedule
book nights for plays with dad at Int'l theater
Have a wonderful day, my peeps!
"once upon a time
once when you were mine
i remember skies
reflected in your eyes
i wonder where you are
i wonder if you think about me
once upon a time, in your wildest dreams!"
That is the 80's song of the day, "Your Wildest Dreams" by the Moody Blues.

Buried Myself Alive on the Inside

Hello Folks, I'm experimenting with some type choices here. My boys both woke up with racking coughs, I just acquiesed and let them play the Wii for a minute. How that thing is any fun is beyond me. It's this little Lego Darth Vader going around in circles. Whatev, it's Facebook time for me, ha ha. Last week I added my best friend from high school, a kid I used to babysit for, and my friend from Harbor Junior College! Also, a guy I really remember from junior high! Facebook is such a trip, and rockin' my world right now.

My mom is going to lunch with her friend she met at the Braille Institute. He has a seeing eye dog. I think it's wonderful that my mom is putting her retirement to good use. She is the most amazing mom, friend, party giver, and the BEST GRANDMA EVER. Her complete immersion in my kids lives gives me pure joy. And it gives Tim & I a break when she takes them overnight.

We have a dedication this time around for the 80's song of the day. The song would be "Dancing in Heavan", by I have no frickin' idea, and I dedicate it to my dear friend GIA, who thanks to FACEBOOK I have been chattin' with.

I am working on the links around Siamese Dreams, but until then, here's the deal. You can expect very intelligent discussions around these parts, such as Who is Suing Britney, and What's Up with Rick Astley (I stole that from KROQ). Well, it's Britney's old pal Sam Lutfi who is suing Brit Brit & her daddy-o. Defamation of character. Whatta sleaze! You leave my girl alone so she can dangle from the ceiling doing her CIRCUS dance, and keep mesmerizing us with her DANCE MOVES.

The Dead are coming, I am trying to round up people to go! Would love to see them at SHORELINE AMP. again. Missing you, Captain Tripps, aka Jerr Bear~~

Have a rawkin' day~!

Tuesday, February 3, 2009

I love my new blog so much that I have decided to post again. Folks, we have breaking Britney news (hint, keeping her lawyers ever so busy) and remaining Grateful Dead members (now apparently called "The Dead") concert info (well, anyone have a miracle ticket?) coming. While I am tinkering with my site, here are a few sites that I frequent:
aliedwards.typepad.com
kristinacontes.typepad.com
thecrunchychicken.com
flylady.net
I've also been having fun with lyrics.com and playlist :-}
My kids are having fun playing outside in this glorious weather. I don't have the heart to bring Aaron in to work on a report about the most boring President evah.
Charlotte and I went to the library. I got "Little Earthquakes" by Jennifer Weiner, and a Babar book for Logan . Charlotte chose a Berenstain Bear book. Renewed books on Pierce, and brought home one other.
80's song of the day "Tarzan Boy", by Baltimora. totally
Coming up this week: a layout, and storm watch (expecting rain on Friday. please, please, please)
Peace!

Welcome to my Blog!

Instead of boring my Aunt Laurie or Kristen with my incessant ramblings, I thought it was time for me to start my own blog. Now comes the problem of my computer illiteracy! Here I will ramble on about being green, being a mom, loving Ed Begley, Jr., books, Britney & yes, I'm sorry, there will be cat pictures. Today Charlotte Rose & I are enjoying a nice quiet morning after getting the boys off to school. Aaron's Franklin Pierce report is a weight on my shoulders. He's got to get that finished so we can play this week! Have a great day!
